  1. Summer

    July 25, 2014 by sigrid

I was suddenly shocked to see that I had not written a post for almost a full month. That was never my intention, but here we are again. Lately I have been busy enjoying my summer holiday. The weather has been unusually hot. I can not remember the last time we had above 30 degrees Celsius in this part of Norway. I feel like a lizard these days, creeping from shadow to shadow. The heat knocks me completely of  my feet, and I don’t have the energy to do anything. Well, that is not completely true. I have been doing some things the last few weeks.

I had a really nice trip to Bergen a couple of weeks ago. The reason I went was to visit a friend, but also to help my sister move into a new apartment. I went there by train, but on the way home I joined my parents and sister in their car. The drive home was was a long but beautiful one.

  2. Meet Hazel Grace

    June 28, 2014 by sigrid

I wondered for a while what I should call these socks. But then it struck me: Hazel Grace. It is the name of one of my all time favorite fictional characters, from the book “The fault in our stars” by the amazing John Green. The only reason I ended up using this name is simply that I love the book, the movie and the character.

The pattern contains instructions for knitting with US 2½ – 3.0 mm and US 1½ – 2.5 mm. The yarns I used are  Austermann Step Classic and Filcolana Arwetta Classic, both lovely yarn for sock knitting.

    Flerfargetversion

This is a free sock pattern, and I hope you will enjoy it as much as I enjoyed making it. You will find the pattern at Ravelry. But you can also download the norwegian version her:  Hazel Graze.nor . Or the english version: Hazel Grace.eng

  3. Knitspiration- a rant ending with socks

    March 4, 2014 by sigrid

The sky is grey, and there is a light drizzle outside. Also, it is almost dark. Not exactly the kind of weather that makes you smile, dance and go for a 3 hour walk. The sofa, knitting and a big cup of tea is much more appealing this gloomy afternoon. And that is what I shal do today, but first I have to find a knitting project for my mother. I suddenly realized that this is something I have never done before. Every knitter, I imagine, is sure of what they prefer both in a pattern, yarn and color. But I have never had to pick a project for someone else. Well, I accept the challenge thrown upon me!
